The group are heading our way in December as part of their absolutely massive 360 Degrees tour, according to U2′s manager Paul McGuinness “It was important to the band that we were able to bring the whole 360 degrees production to Australia and New Zealand so fans could experience the latest of U2′s legendary productions.”
All reports so far are suggesting that this tour will eclipse every other stadium show we’ve seen thus far, Michael Coppel and Live Nation Australia have been reported as saying that this tour “is the biggest tour that any artist has ever mounted – or possibly ever will mount.”
To add to the hype U2 tour producer and promoter from Live Nation had this to say, “The extra capacity U2 360 Degrees gives us means that there are a large number, several thousand in fact, of low-priced tickets at every show.”
There has also been talk of ‘The Claw’ a 57 metre high bug-like spaceship covered in speakers, and permits being sought to keep the roof open at Etihad Stadium so that ‘The Claw’ will be visible to the city of Melbourne from Docklands. So huge is this production that it will take 120 trucks to cart the gear around, and 157 production crew to set up the U2 360 degrees awesomeness.
No doubt this is set to be a phenomenal and unforgettable stadium experience. Tickets starting at $39.99 and as mentioned above the 360 degrees aspect of the show adds extra capacity. Tickets for the tour go on sale 9am Friday September 3rd , click on your city below for ticketing information, if you’re a U2 subscriber check out the pre-sale details at the U2 site.
