Ah it is called the 2009 focus MOH competition (for courtesy sake), anyways lot’s of amazing Melbourne photography to check out – some wonderful architectural shots.

If you’ve never heard of it, MOH is one day a year when parts of some of Melbourne’s famous (and not so famous) buildings are open to the public for both guided and self guided tours. HEAPS of people showed up – I was NOT expecting it to be anywhere near as popular as it was – the lines for the Manchester Unity building tours were very long – and it seemed to be a similar case around at the Athenaeum. Gill and I made it in pretty late (we’re both night owls and late risers), we only made it through the Town Hall (and Council Chambers) and the Athenaeum Library. So my advice to anyone thinking of going next year – go early.
We had an awesome day though, it was cool to just wander the city in the lovely Melbourne winter sunshine (and chilly wind…) and just be in the city for the day.
Oh of course – we went for a wander down hosier la.
Hosier la for anyone not from Melb is a lane off Flinders Lane famous for it’s street art – you’ll find a mix of amateur and professional photographers and street artists down there any time of night or day… and druggies… and homeless people… I always say it’s the only place in the world where smackies, conservative art types, tourists, homeless people, students and graff artists can all coexist in peace.
More on Hosier in subsequent blog posts I’m sure – we’ve gone way off track from where I started and this post is starting to feel old already so that’s it for this one – MOH – very cool – highly suggest you go next year – check out pics – if you’re a photographer (amateur thru to professional) you’ll be interested in the competition.
